Daily you!

I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship. Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭MEV‬‬

When meditating on this verse, the Holy Spirit lead me to realize the spiritual situation of many ‘believers’ of God & ‘Christians’ of nowadays.

Anyone who claims to be a Christian, needs to ask themselves this question EVERYDAY without fail:

“Am I presenting myself in my daily decisions & actions as HOLY & acceptable, in God’s eyes?”

God has a set standard, a level of expectation, unfortunately many twist and turn God’s standard to make themselves feel better about not making the true sacrifices needed in order to fulfill it.

Paul spoke about these types of people earlier in the book of Romans (see Romans 10:1-4). One of the main symptoms of being like this is the fear of death.

Now, why not take 20min to think:

Am I truly & sincerely giving my best in my relationship with God?

Do I really want this relationship?

Do my actions & thoughts honestly reflect the answers I gave to the previous questions?

I pray that the spirit of humility embraces and strengthens us all. God Bless

Listen! Listen! Listen!

Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. Romans 10:1-3 NLT

The Holy Spirit has been speaking profoundly in my church, since last week Monday, about us LISTENING to Him; and while I was meditating on these verses, it lead me to understand how the Holy Spirit feels when we don’t listen to His directions.

The verses are quite self explanatory, we need to resist trying to please God in ‘our ways‘, and LISTEN to His directions and please Him in ‘His ways‘.

Some do have a lot of sincere zeal for God but due to their immaturity in faith, they’re wasting time. Let’s not ignore what God is saying to us all at this very moment: LISTEN to Me!

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Matthew 23:25 MEV

Let’s avoid getting the Lord Jesus angry with us.

All Winners Have This Trait

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 MEV

Perseverance keeps a person focused and steadfast in their purpose until the day they achieve their goal. It give Christians firmness of character, keeps them loyal to a pure faith even in the most adverse circumstances.

We go through trails or deserts to develop perseverance (James 1:2-4 & Romans 5:3-4).

In the face of failures, fear or setbacks, those who are perseverant don’t lose their goal and give up, they remain steadfast, determined to keep moving forward. Christians have God and His Word, their is no reason to ever give up and not achieve our goals.

All things in life depend on perseverance (Luke 21:19). Salvation & the realization of our goals will not happen by chance, it depends on us. It takes determination, perseverance, an indomitable & unyielding spirit (Hebrews 10:36).

I believe that failure and defeat comes from a lack of perseverance; when we believe in what we are doing and are determined, positive results must take place. It’s the law of God & life (Galatians 6:7).

Soft water constantly striking a hard stone wears it out in the end.

Why did God command Joshua to persevere by walking around Jericho? Why did Naaman have to dip himself in the river seven times? Couldn’t God perform the miracle instantly? Of course He could, so why did they have to repeat the same acts over and over again? Perseverance

What’s A CLEAN Conscience?

This command I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies that were previously given to you, that by them you might fight a good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. 1 Timothy 1:18-19 MEV

Our conscious is the deepest expression of our soul. It enables us to distinguish between good and evil and approve or disapprove our behaviour and attitude; creating a sense of responsibility within us. A Saint’s conscious is the consequence of a life in the presence of God; this is what builds character.

Our conscience is like a thermometer that measures our level of spirituality.

What makes my conscious unclean and what are the consequences? Sin is the only source to an unclean conscious.

It weighs our spirit down, as it stains & our soul wants to be clean (Psalm 32:4).

When our conscious is stained like this, it produces doubts; which causes our faith to become faulty and ineffective. It’s useless to pray, quote Scripture or demand from God at this point.

How can I clean my conscious and keep it clean?

The key to a clean conscious is to confess the sin (no watering down) as it is (Psalm 32:3-6 & I John 1:9). However, don’t just confess them and keep then doing wrong, thinking because you confessed God will forgive you. There may be people who were hurt by that sin or sins, who also need to hear the sinner confess his sin. If this isn’t done, the person will be forgiven by God but not the person who was a victim of the sin.

The way back to a clean conscience is rough & extremely difficult; that’s why only few reach it. The majority try to find alternative routes but these never work because the devil knows they are not sincere & anxiously want their downfall.

If I want to keep my conscience clean, I must be at peace with God and with others, especially those who share the same faith.

NEVER ALLOW SIN TO ACCUMULATE, rather IMMEDIATELY CONFESS them, because when we do, we remove all stains, dirt and impurities from our heart. Refuse to do this, and your heart will remain dirty and will only get worse.

How can someone in sin appear blessed?

God will always honor His Word & reputation, therefore He will allow miracles to happen when the person uses their faith. However, this doesn’t stop the person’s faith to grow cold from day to day, having rejected a good conscious, they will end up wrecking their faith.

Anyone who thinks their works for God justifies their sinful behaviour is deceiving themselves, and worse of all, mocking God. Sooner or later, the sin will be revealed and the shame of that person will be disastrous.

Get rid of hidden sin so you can serve the Holy Spirit with a clean conscious. By doing this, we avoid quenching the Holy Spirit. Fill the heart of the Lord with Joy & Happiness & step on satan with authority and faith.

The Fruits Of Fearing God

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 MEV

The fear of the Lord is a deep reverence and respect towards God, capable of narrowing the gap between yourself & Him (Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 14:2 & Psalms 103:11).

What does it mean to fear God?

It is to live a life of sacrifice, keeping God’s will in mind & being moved by the love He has always shown.

If I want Jesus to manifest Himself through me, I must manifest His attitudes, behaviour and His gospel. I must have the mind of Christ, He said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34).

Many so-called Christians and believers don’t fear God, their food is to do their own will, by prioritizing worldly riches, fame & the lusts of their heart. Due to this selfish ambition, they are ineffective Christians. God even will not hear their prayers (John 9:31).

It’s a daily battle between our flesh and Spirit (Galatian 5:16-17).

God chose David because of His unselfish desire to serve God (I Samuel 13:14). Through this verse I understood that God is looking for those who are willing to do His will & who are responsible. Even in the face of injustice and persecution by Saul, David showed reverence to God by refusing to kill Saul when he could; he thought to himself, ‘Who am I to kill someone that God has anointed?’, this shows fear towards God, not man.

When a person really fears God in their character and actions, God is moved by these acts of loyalty and love; so much so that He glorifies them before satan and man. Just like He did with Job.

When Job had everything he needed, he feared God in his character and actions; when God allowed satan to take it all away, he still trusted & feared God in his character and actions. And the world knows how God rewarded him because of this.

When a person has:

The Fear of God

The Holy Spirit

The Word of God

The name of Jesus.

What else do they need? Absolutely nothing.

Repentance & It’s Characteristics

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23 NKJV

Repentance is a sincere and wholehearted regret over something bad or wrong that a person has done, and causes a complete change in a person’s attitudes and behaviour.

Remorse is nothing but a deep feeling of guilt, it causes discomfort for a short period of time and is soon forgotten, it doesn’t cause the person to change their ways.

Characteristics of repentance

Acknowledging your sin – One of the hardest things for a person to do is to admit their mistakes and sins. Many try to justify or ignore their sins as a way of keeping their conscience clean but by doing this, they are rejecting God formula to cleansing them, accepting the devil’s formula to remain dirty & prone to do it again.

It’s the Holy Spirit that convicts the person of their sin (read John 16:8).

Confess the sin – After acknowledging sin, the person must immediately confess it, in its entirety to God, so He may cancel out the sin (read I John 1:9).

If a person acknowledges sin but doesn’t confess it, it will remain hidden; start growing; bears fruits in their character/life sooner or later and then attract other bigger sins.

Hate sin – If a person doesn’t learn to hate the sin, the sin will definitely come knocking again; seduce them and deceive them into obeying it. Sin tastes sweet at the beginning, turning bitter only when it has taken root & it’s consequences are so destructive that it would have been better to have never got involved with it.

God leads us to repentance (read Romans 2:14). It is a gift from God; those who reject it are rejecting God’s grace. Embrace repentance, never  manipulate it. The danger of playing with repentance is that the person could possibly end up falling into sin so many times, that they reach a point of not being able to forgive themselves (read Hebrews 6:4-6).

Sin & It’s Consequences

For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23 MEV

Sin is disobedience – voluntary & involuntary – to the Word of God. We become servants of him whose voice we obey.

Sinner like to justify their sinful acts, usually by saying it was unconsciously done, but this shows an irresponsible and unrepentant attitude. There’s no involuntary sin, every act a person does involves a person’s will & intentions.

We will never be tempted with something we cannot overcome (I Corinthians 10:13). Sin is subtly, and especially nowadays blatantly presented to us all by the devil. If we happen to fall into the temptation, we have the choice to either justify/ignore or repent; but the reality is that if we don’t repent, the seed of sin will grow and bear fruits in our character sooner or later.

Some people sin out of curiosity. We must watch out for the lust of our eyes, covetousness and greed.

Every sin starts in the mind through images, evil words or evil suggestions. We need to be responsible and mature to rebuke them before it reaches our heart, as it’s easier to overcome; however, if we entertain it, it’s much more harder to uproot, though not impossible. In that case I need to confess it to Jesus and ask Him to remove it from my mind.

I pray you don’t just receive this knowledge but you put it into practice. God Bless!

“I’m Of God Because I Gained A Blessing!” No You’re Not

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned with a loud voice glorifying God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. Jesus said, “Were not the ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Were there not any found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner?” Then He said to him, “Rise, go your way. Your faith has made you well. Luke 17:15-17 MEV

Don’t get it twisted, when you receive blessings from God it doesn’t mean that you are of God. Anyone can receive a blessing from God: the person can be a liar, evil, old, young, a Muslim, a Hindu, Black, Asian, White etc… but as long as they demonstrate faith in the Words and promises of God, and take actions to acquire it, by God’s own righteousness to not lie and fulfill His Word, He will bless that person.

Think about it, how times were you or someone you know, who at the time of receiving their blessing from God, living in sin? Yet, they still received their answer from God. Just have another read of the verses at the beginning of this post.

It’s irrational to based that “a person is of God” when they receive a blessing. The truth is, a person is of God based on their character, their spiritual life & loyalty to obeying God.

It’s more than just prayers and conquering blessings; it’s all about the person’s character & actions. Ask yourself the following:

“If I was to lose everything that I hold dear to me in a matter of days, would I still remain with God or complain and leave God?”

“If I was to never get married, have children or gain something I really want, would I still value and be loyal to God?”

“When my flesh is desiring to do what is wrong or i’m being tempted, am I falling for it and making excuses or resisting to please and obey my God?

Many people are distracted in the world; their focus and strength needs to be on being saved, converted and receiving the Holy Spirit.

Christians need to seek God, seek understanding His will & seek to receive the Holy Spirit with the same intensity they use for the things they value the most here on earth i.e. Status, A Degree, Work, Loved ones, Money etc…
