Assume YOUR Responsibility

There are many things that others can do for us, but, have you ever wondered what no-one can do for you? Give a helping hand in a moment of distress, hearing the outbursts of our jokes, laughing, crying in our saddest moments, telling us a compliment, a criticism, giving an opinion etc… there are several things that others can do for us, because no man or woman are an island, is that not the truth? However, there are many other things that others cannot do for us, for example, physical things, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, walking, stopping, running, smiling, crying etc… but there are still more, defining what we are and even our own future, NO ONE CAN DO THIS FOR US!

The problem is that many people don’t want to take on this responsibility and would rather delegate it or leave it in the hands of others, only because it doesn’t suit them. “But what are these things? I do not understand!”, you may ask. I could list many, your dreams, your future, but most importantly, it is YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD! No, no one can talk to God for you, surrender to God for you, be faithful to God for you, and, much less, be saved for you!

Think about it

The Marathon Of A Christian || Part 1

Being a Christian is far from easy

We are called to go right while most people in the world are going left, we are called to tell the truth in a world that has grown accustomed to lies & we are called to sacrifice the natural desires of our flesh to follow the desires of God.

What makes it even harder in my opinion is that once we Christians decides to accept Jesus and follow His Word, we still have to live in this world, though we are not apart of it.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour & are baptized in water, we becomes a citizen of the Kingdom of God (a kingdom where love, gentleness, kindness, trust, joy, happiness, peace, forgiveness, unity abounds) stuck in a world full of citizens that hate, lie, steal, hold grudges, are proud, are stubborn, murder, discourage, fornicate, fight each other, are selfish etc…

I know that God keeps us here for the sole purpose of saving more souls for the Kingdom of God; but sometimes I really wished that once a person did accept Jesus in their life sincerely, we could straight away be transported to Paradise. Why? because the longer a true Christian stays in this world, the more they are at risk to lose their salvation and give up on this life on earth as a Christian.

The Lord Jesus said:

You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. Matthew 7:13-14 NLT

One thing I realized is that the path of being true Christian is in fact like a marathon or steeplechase athletes take part in, the only difference is that the aim is to FINISH the race, position don’t matter, as long as you finish the race.

It’s long, hard and their are hurdles but for those who listen to their coach’s advice (Listen to the Word of God), train hard (Put the word of God into practice), show determination (No matter how they feel along the way, their aim to finish the race is too strong for them to give up) & have endurance (Practice the Word of God daily til the very end), they will finish the race.

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will.  Hebrews 10:36 NLT

It’s all about Endurance for us Christians but along the marathon we as Christians can even make it even harder….

Fly High

“Just as a bird with broken wings cannot fly, so are those who allow their objectives to be shattered and destroyed.”

Imagine looking up to the sky and getting a glimpse of an enormous bird in flight! What freedom!

It must be delightful to be able to observe the world from the top. Everything becomes so small that there’s no reason to fear, just to fly and feel the wonderful sensation of not being tied down to anything, except for living a life with goals and objectives to achieve your dreams!

Now imagine how the life of a bird with broken wings is!

How can it be happy and feel free?

This is the life of those who allow their objectives to be shattered and destroyed. Although there are storms, thunderstorms, lightning and many other weather phenomena around it, birds don’t allow themselves to be brought down. They fly incessantly and are happy.

If life has shattered and broken your “wings” because of what you see and/or feel; Heal and recover quickly, so you can fly high and achieve all your dreams.

Don’t allow the storms of life that will always come & past, rob you of your RIGHT of  flying high!

Be Courageous

“Have the same courage as your goal. It never asked anyone if it could exist.”

Courage is the key to conquering our objectives, without it, we will never take the first step, take necessary risks, sacrifice and deny our own pleasures. Your objective doesn’t, and will never, exist if you don’t have courage to achieve it.

A bold man motivates himself to go farther and faces challenges with confidence. Fear can show up, but his impulse pushes him to move forward. Courage is the confidence one has in moments of fear or difficult situations. It’s what makes you live, fight and confront the obstacles and impediments that fear places before you. It’s the positive force to combat the dark moments of life.

Confidence, courage and a spirit of sacrifice are essential to get you to where you truly want to go. Your goal doesn’t exist if there is no courage to achieve it. Only the brave succeed. The brave don’t ask, they act and conquer their place in this world.

Faith in the God of the Bible || Advice for Women

One of the things I like most is to talk about my faith, but I don’t always talk about it directly. Every time I speak about love, I speak about my faith. Every time I speak about women valuing themselves, I speak about my faith. Every time I speak about clothes and looks, I speak about my faith. I can already see your curious faces: “What does one thing have to do with the other?”

Everything! First of all, faith is not religion.

Unfortunately, there’s a certain culture in our society which states that if you believe in God you’re religious. What an enormous lie! Religiousness doesn’t allow you to think, you simply live within beliefs and that’s it. If your religion says that cows are holy then you treat cows as if they’re holy. You don’t question why the cow is holy, after all even that’s against your religion! You just don’t question why the cow is holy, nor try to understand, you simply follow. Well, well, well, that’s just an insult to my intelligence!

So what is it to have faith in God?

Faith in God is the following: I read the Bible and it says that you should forgive your enemies so that you can be forgiven too. So I forgive, and guess what happens? I truly feel forgiven of my mistakes! I don’t carry guilt, something that unfortunately many people carry today.

God makes me thousands of promises in the Bible, which in summary say: “If you follow Me, you’re going to be very happy in all the areas of your life, and on top of that, you’ll spend eternity with me.”

I believe in these promises, I follow and practice them, and guess what happens? I’m truly happy in every area of my life! And there’s more, I’m not afraid to die.

In other words, God promises and fulfills His words – EVERY TIME! Well, well, well… to have faith in God is just intelligent. So what does love, value, and beauty have to do with faith? God even talks about this in His Word! Hahaha!

Meditate on these verses:

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13 4-7

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10

As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a lovely woman who lacks discretion. Proverbs 11:2

Why Is God Taking So Long? || HE Has His Reasons

Has the thought of “Why is God taking so long to bless me” ever come to your mind before? I know it has in my mind several times in the past 5 years since being in His presence.

I’m pretty sure it come especially to the mind of those of us who have really been living in obedience to the Word of God, living righteously and by faith in action. Throughout the bible, we read of the heroes of faith in the past being blessed by God for using there faith in God. For me it sometimes seems as if God didn’t take too long to bless them, however, I read a bible verse in the book of Joshua that made me think otherwise.

I was reading Joshua chapter 11, how he conquered the lands that we today know as Israel. The chapter only has 23 verses and it summarized how he conquered the lands through various battles and at first glance by reading this short chapter, I believe most of us would think that it took a short time to do what they did, since they had God on their side but then I came to this verse:

Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. Joshua 11:18 NKJV

Keywords: LONG & TIME

Then after reading that verse I continued to read chapter 12, this chapter stated the kings and the lands of which Joshua and the children of Israel conquered.

What amazed me was that in the beginning of chapter 11, the bible talks about the king of Hazor assembling with other kings to fight against Israel then in chapter 12 it lists how many more kings Joshua and the children of Israel had to conquer after that battle against the king of Hazor before the promise of God was fulfilled of them having their own land.

8 more king to be exact; not to mention the list of kings they had to battle before facing king of Hazor. All together they battle against 31 kings. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTEEEEE! That must have been long lool

Then the verse above made so much more sense to me. I realized something very important about the God of the bible. He will never give His children or those who believe in Him a blessing too quickly or before the right time.

You may be fighting for a blessing in your life right now, praying, fasting, sacrificing etc… and you may be thinking it is taking too long, why isn’t God blessing me now? I’m going to give up if He doesn’t bless me now!

Don’t be immature!

The God of the bible loves us & more importantly, more than the material blessings, He wants us to be with Him in Heaven one day.

I believe the reason why He holds back our blessing (even though like Joshua, we are fighting hard, praying, fasting, sacrificing and living righteously; and even though He could bless us just like that) because while we are praying, fasting, sacrificing, living by faith in His word etc… what are we doing in the process?

We are investing in our relationship with Him and therefore not allowing our faith to become complacent. YES OR NO?

We are drawing closer and closer to Him through our daily sacrificing, showing to Him our loyalty/trust in Him and keeping ourselves on the lordside.

If God gave us the blessing just like that, come on, we all know that we would not value it as much, and on top of that our dependency and relationship with God will grow lukewarm or even worst cold within weeks.

I myself have been praying and fasting for a specific blessing to happen in my life since August 2013. Many time I have been thinking to myself, why is God taking so long, He knows my heart, my intention etc… But when I looked back over the past 9 month and realized how much I have learned & mature in my faith, relationship with God and that specific area of my life I have been praying for I think to my self:

“It was God’s plan all along to help me mature and develop into a stronger version of myself and above all to keep me in His presence.”

Keep praying, keep fasting, keep sacrificing, keep living by faith. The God of the bible doesn’t fail to honour His word.

So the Lord gave to Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. And the Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them conquer all their enemies. Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true. Joshua 21:43-45 NLT

Time will come to past anyways!

You might as well spend that time fighting and living by faith like the many examples in the bible who not only conquered there blessing but also died in the presence of God, with their salvation.

I could continue but this post is already long enough, I think i should start posting video post lol
