Who Is The Closest Person To YOU?

3D man near red question mark

The closest person to you is YOU. YOU will always have to live with YOURSELF, that’s why YOU should do your best to be good company.

If you don’t like YOURSELF, ask YOURSELF a personal question: is it because there’s something really wrong with me or because I’m looking at myself through the eyes of critical people that don’t love me?

YOU can’t do anything about the critics.

But if YOU notice that there is something really wrong with YOU, work on it. Attack that weakness or problem. Don’t give up. Yes, YOU will stumble. YOU will disappoint YOURSELF. But with determination, YOU will improve.

After all, there is no other option. YOU’ll be with YOURSELF until your last breath. So the best thing to do, is to try to improve as a person and make it a pleasant journey.

And one more thing, rather than listen to what the critics say and think about YOU; listen to what God says and thinks about YOU:

“You are the salt of the earth[…] You are the light of the world […] Let YOUR light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NLT

The 2 Hardest Things To Do

1. Make a decision

At first I thought to myself “no it ain’t”, but when I thought deeper into it, it actually is a hard thing we all have to do everyday. Why? because with every decision we make, there is a consequence, a reality that we have to face, whether it be good or bad.

As humans, we should all naturally want to be happy and fulfilled, we would all love if everything was provided for us and we could just chillax all day –  like how Adam & Eve were before they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. However this isn’t the case, so we have to be responsible and make hard decision everyday.

Let me give some examples:

Deciding to get out of bed in the morning OR Deciding to stay in bed an extra hour or more – They are both decisions & each have there own consequence, the reality is that which ever one we pick in the morning, we will have to lose out on something, either the luxury of being in your warm & cozy bed OR being late to work/uni and from that risk not being able to make money and enjoy that money.

Deciding to start dating someone OR Deciding to stay single – Once again, they are both decisions with there own benefits and detriments but we can’t have the benefits of both. A person will either choose the joy of having someone they care about, can relate to & share there experiences with on top of sacrificing time and effort for them  OR stay single and be able to do what they want, when they want, talk to as many people as they want & invest time in themselves.

It’s the fact that with every decision, we have to prepare ourselves to lose out of something else, this is what makes “Making a decision” one of the hardest things to do everyday.

Then we got the second hardest thing

2. Sticking to that decision

Its an eternal battle, deeper than we can contemplate. Many of us have been there when we made a decision and we were really enthusiastic about it at first but as we are humans, we do tend to get bored of the routine and the same old things, so we ending up slacking and sometimes even going back on our decision.

Once you finally decided what you want/have to do, committing to it can be sooooooooooooo hard, don’t you agree? It will take self-discipline, focus, faith, endurance, perseverance, GOD etc…

Along the way there will be plenty of things to discourage you, that will try and make you go back on that decision you made but as the picture below states…

My final words are this: Our life is built on the decisions we make NOW, though it is hard to make it and stick to it, let’s make sure that the decision we do make lead to the life God created us for.

How To Downgrade Your Value || Advice For Women

Queen Vashti also made a feast for the women in the royal palace which belonged to King Ahasuerus. Esther 1:9 NKJV

Now look what we have here, a woman, not just any woman, a Queen. In her position of importance/major status she has power, responsibilities and most importantly, INFLUENCE. She can use her power, responsibilities & influence to do good or bad, help others or take from others, motivate other or discourage others etc…

With this power, responsibility & influence she is also prone to either be humble or proud, modest or arrogant. Unfortunately and quite annoyingly, like many women nowadays, she chose the latter.

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha […]  to bring Queen Vashti before the king, wearing her royal crown, in order to show her beauty to the people and the officials, for she was beautiful to behold. But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s command brought by his eunuchs; therefore the king was furious, and his anger burned within him. Esther 1:10-12 NKJV

As a man, I can relate to the King’s anger. A simple request from her husband, asking his wife to make an appearance was ignored – The King was not asking her to come to wash up, clean up, cook for him etc… in fact he wanted to boast about her and show her off, yet the Queen chose to be arrogant & proud towards this request – how embarrassing for the King. If there is one thing you women should know is that the moment you offend a man’s pride, be ready for serious consequences.

When I look at this situation I just laugh because this woman forgot in that split moment the level of influence & authority she had, she forgot that though she was the Queen, she didn’t have the same level of power, importance and authority that the King had.

“What shall we do to Queen Vashti, according to law, because she did not obey the command of King Ahasuerus brought to her by the eunuchs?” And Memucan answered before the king and the princes: “Queen Vashti has not only wronged the king, but also all the princes, and all the people who are in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus. For the queen’s behavior will become known to all women, so that they will despise their husbands in their eyes, when they report, ‘King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti to be brought in before him, but she did not come. Esther 1:15-17 NKJV

Mate! She had to pay, she disrespected the King, forget how influential she was & her level of authority. So many female celebrities do this as well, with so many admiring female fans watching & following what they do.

If it pleases the king, let a royal decree go out from him, and let it be recorded in the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it will not be altered, that Vashti shall come no more before King Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal position to another who is better than she. When the king’s decree which he will make is proclaimed throughout all his empire (for it is great), all wives will honor their husbands, both great and small.” And the reply pleased the king and the princes, and the king did according to the word of Memucan. Esther 1:19-21 NKJV

A real man won’t tolerate pride, arrogance or disrespect from his wife or girlfriend because he knows his value and authority. He knows that since statistically speaking there are 7 women for every man, he can find respect & humility elsewhere. In the King’s case later, the new Queen Esther.

The lesson is simple ladies: Don’t allow pride or arrogance into your character unless you want to downgrade your value. Besides this example of former Queen Vashti, i’m sure you have seen or heard of many cases like this.

Alexander’s 3 Wishes

On his deathbed, Alexander “The Great” summoned his generals and told them his 3 ultimate wishes:

1. The best doctors should carry his coffin;

2. The wealth he accumulated (money, gold, precious stones) should be scattered along the procession to the cemetery;

3. His hands should be let loose, hanging outside the coffin for all to see.

One of his generals, who was surprised by these unusual requests asked Alexander to explain.

Alexander said:

1. I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate that they have NO power to heal;

2. I want the road to be covered with my treasures so that everybody sees that material wealth acquired on earth, stays on earth;

3. I want my hands to swing in the wind, so people can understand that we come to this world empty handed and we leave this world empty handed.

1. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

2. And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!” But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God. Luke 12:19-21 NLT

3. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 NKJV

To Progress; Look Back Less!

Have you noticed the details of a sports car? Far beyond it’s power, I focus on the car’s aerodynamics and streamlining. These are designed with one objective in mind: TO MOVE FORWARD!

Sometimes things are so obvious that we end up not thinking deeply enough about them, and eventually miss out on important things we could have learned.

I thought about writing this in order to wake you up and make you think twice, when the thought of getting stuck in the past and giving up comes to mind. I confess, I stopped to think about what I was writing and I learned something.

So here it goes:

What is the purpose of the external rear-view mirrors on a car? To look at what’s behind. It seems obvious. However, it is much smaller than the windshield (which, as we know, is used for looking ahead).

Very well then…

Have you ever noticed how different the external rear view mirrors of a truck and those of a sports car are? That’s right, the truck has huge mirrors and the sports car has much smaller ones. In some cases they are so small that they barely serve the purpose for which they were designed.

Do you know why the mirrors are tiny? Because sports cars are meant to move fast, and the bigger the mirrors, the greater the air resistance, thus decreasing the capacity of progression of the vehicle. In other words, it only gets in the way.

If we move from cars to motorcycles, the mirror is literally “removed” from the original spot. In other words, the desire to progress and overcome is so high that very few times you look back, hence the lack of necessity for a mirror. Another reason is, because staring at it can be very dangerous, especially with intended driving style of these kind of vehicles.

It’s a face, as long as I’m first, it doesn’t matter how far away is my opponent is (he can even be very close to me). Why should I be looking back all the time?

So, we can conclude that (and this is where I learned something): Whoever wants to progress quickly, should look back very few times.

It’s not down to the engine. as the truck has a very powerful one, just like the sports car. It’s a matter of “plucking out” the rearview mirror and stop looking behind.
