Are Your Rooted In HIM?

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 NLT

It’s impossible to please God the Father & the Lord Jesus without knowing what actually pleases Them. So how do we know what pleases Them if we can’t physically go up to Them and ask? THE BIBLE. This book was created by men, inspired by the very real Holy Spirit, to help us all know the will and desires of God. It’s in this book that we can learn God’s thoughts, desires and above all, what pleases Him.

Unfortunately, many unbelievers, and sadly even believers, due to various excuses (especially in this day and age where billions are invested in escapism attractions and time consuming social media apps) don’t have a clue as to what pleases God anymore. They have neglected feeding their mind, especially their subconscious mind, with the Word of God.

So many once upon a time accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and even started out in their journey of faith well, but along the way, crashed and haven’t recovered.

We need to make it a discipline, a priority, to meditate on the bible and ABOVE ALL, act upon what God teaches us, applying it to our daily lives.

We need to be rooted into the Bible. Let’s picture this, the Bible is the soil, and we are the seed; we must take our take to grow our roots deeper and deeper into the soil, so that when we have mature and turn into a tree, when the wind blows, the storm comes and tribulation occur, because we are so rooted in the word, we will keep standing and overcome the devil.

Look what the Lord Jesus said:

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Matthew 7:24 NLT

Who Actually Wants To Do God’s Works?

“The works of the Lord are great, sought out by all who have pleasure in them.” Psalms 111:2 MEV

I really believe in this verse! Truly those who have had a true experience with God, those who are born of God and those who have the Holy Spirit, had a desire placed inside of them to seek & most importantly do the Lord’s works.

These people don’t ignore this desire, they cultivate and act upon it, because they KNOW, the pleasure they get from doing it doesn’t come from man, it comes directly from GOD; they also KNOW that God sees their efforts & their reward will come from HIM, in the right TIME.

I can speak for myself that indeed doing His works i.e. Visits to the hospital & homes of those who are sick, Various Evangelism, Healing the sick, Encouraging the poor in spirit etc… are GREAT as the bible says, because God Himself is GREAT and everything associated with Him is GREAT i.e. the Sun, the other Stars, the Moon, the Earth, Joy, Happiness, Laughter, Humans and Animals etc…

Personally, I don’t need a man or a spiritual authority to tell me to do His works, it’s the DESIRE that He placed inside of me that ALWAYS drives me to think, “What can I do to execute God’s works more effectively today?”

This is the importance of seeking to have a true encounter/experience with God, because without it, this desire will never be placed inside. I can also confirm that until I had my experience with God, there was no real desire for God’s work, everything I did was forced & a burden.

May God bless you abundantly!

The Size Of The Creator

Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? Psalm 71:19 NKJV

Yesterday in my church’s weekly bible study meeting, the Pastor showed the congregation a video (see below), this video made me realize something, something that I myself am guilty of and unfortunately most believers are guilty of doing at some point or another in their walk with God: We forget how BIG & GREAT the GOD we claim to serve and believe in really is.

The video is less than two minutes long, by the end of it I had one question in my mind: These planets & stars are so huge, imagine how big the creator is?

I then started to rebuke myself for allowing the many convincing lies of the devil, the daily doubts and the constant attacks of fears whenever I decide to use my faith, to distract me from the magnitude and size of my God. He created the Heavens & the galaxy, for me to doubt in His ability to reward my faith in action and trust in Him is irrational & emotional.

King David knew how GREAT & BIG his God was, that’s why he didn’t back down challenging Goliath; Abraham didn’t avoid obeying God when He asked him to sacrifice Isaac because He believed that God would raise him from the dead if anything; even the Lord Jesus didn’t run away from making the sacrifice that God the Father sent Him for because He knew personally how GREAT & BIG he is, and there are so many other examples in the bible.

The next time satan speaks words of doubt in your ear, throws feelings of fear in your heart to neutralize you from taking actions or even use people around you to pressure you to not believe in God, remind him of the following verse:

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! James 2:19 NKJV

He and his demons know the truth and how GREAT & BIG God is, after all, they were once living in His magnificent presence. It is now their mission and work to cause us to not see His GREATNESS in our lives; but their shame & failure in our lives instead.

How GREAT Is The God Of The Bible!? May He Reward Your Faith In Him.

The ONLY Way To Know God Personally

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. I Corinthians 2:11 NKJV

This verse is very profound. It leaves in the mind of those who have common sense, no room for doubt or confusion.

Who know us better than our own spirit? Only God, but no one else. So surely you can understand now why anyone who is born of God continue to feel sadden when a person is in a church for many years or claiming to believe in God, yet they have never received the Holy Spirit.

Without the Holy Spirit, you can read the entire bible, experience miracles, improve in your character and even be used by God to save others, but, you’ll never know who God is personally.

Now imagine how frustrating this is for God Himself.

He sent our Lord Jesus, His Son, to die for us so that the Holy Spirit could be given to all those who believe in Him, as a GIFT, as our INHERITANCE. A gift that we are automatically entitled to the moment we accept Him as our Lord & Saviour.

Yet, so many neglect or reject it, consciously & unconsciously. And the consequence? People who are in church for most of their lives or claim to believe in the God of the bible, but don’t even know, PERSONALLY , the One they claim to be their Father, Lord & Saviour.

Do Not Accept This To Be Your Case.

The Holy Spirit inside of me is telling you, demanding from you, that you use your focus, time and strength to take possession of YOUR GIFT, YOUR INHERITANCE, the Holy Spirit.

Daily you!

I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship. Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭MEV‬‬

When meditating on this verse, the Holy Spirit lead me to realize the spiritual situation of many ‘believers’ of God & ‘Christians’ of nowadays.

Anyone who claims to be a Christian, needs to ask themselves this question EVERYDAY without fail:

“Am I presenting myself in my daily decisions & actions as HOLY & acceptable, in God’s eyes?”

God has a set standard, a level of expectation, unfortunately many twist and turn God’s standard to make themselves feel better about not making the true sacrifices needed in order to fulfill it.

Paul spoke about these types of people earlier in the book of Romans (see Romans 10:1-4). One of the main symptoms of being like this is the fear of death.

Now, why not take 20min to think:

Am I truly & sincerely giving my best in my relationship with God?

Do I really want this relationship?

Do my actions & thoughts honestly reflect the answers I gave to the previous questions?

I pray that the spirit of humility embraces and strengthens us all. God Bless

Listen! Listen! Listen!

Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. Romans 10:1-3 NLT

The Holy Spirit has been speaking profoundly in my church, since last week Monday, about us LISTENING to Him; and while I was meditating on these verses, it lead me to understand how the Holy Spirit feels when we don’t listen to His directions.

The verses are quite self explanatory, we need to resist trying to please God in ‘our ways‘, and LISTEN to His directions and please Him in ‘His ways‘.

Some do have a lot of sincere zeal for God but due to their immaturity in faith, they’re wasting time. Let’s not ignore what God is saying to us all at this very moment: LISTEN to Me!

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Matthew 23:25 MEV

Let’s avoid getting the Lord Jesus angry with us.

All Winners Have This Trait

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 MEV

Perseverance keeps a person focused and steadfast in their purpose until the day they achieve their goal. It give Christians firmness of character, keeps them loyal to a pure faith even in the most adverse circumstances.

We go through trails or deserts to develop perseverance (James 1:2-4 & Romans 5:3-4).

In the face of failures, fear or setbacks, those who are perseverant don’t lose their goal and give up, they remain steadfast, determined to keep moving forward. Christians have God and His Word, their is no reason to ever give up and not achieve our goals.

All things in life depend on perseverance (Luke 21:19). Salvation & the realization of our goals will not happen by chance, it depends on us. It takes determination, perseverance, an indomitable & unyielding spirit (Hebrews 10:36).

I believe that failure and defeat comes from a lack of perseverance; when we believe in what we are doing and are determined, positive results must take place. It’s the law of God & life (Galatians 6:7).

Soft water constantly striking a hard stone wears it out in the end.

Why did God command Joshua to persevere by walking around Jericho? Why did Naaman have to dip himself in the river seven times? Couldn’t God perform the miracle instantly? Of course He could, so why did they have to repeat the same acts over and over again? Perseverance
