21 Days Of The Fast Of Daniel – My Day #19

Meditate with me on these powerful bible verses:

and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You? John 19:9-10 NKJV

While meditating on these verses, many times in the past and even this morning, I questioned why Jesus didn’t answer Pilate, I mean, what he was saying was true, he was clearly offering Jesus a way out of the injustice that He was experiencing.

Then God revealed to me why Jesus didn’t speak: Jesus knew what He had to do, He had to obey God and make the sacrifice. 

Jesus wasn’t in doubt about His mission, so even though Pilate was offering a way out, Jesus had to ignore him. Jesus didn’t entertain the idea of not going ahead with the sacrifice, in other words, finding an excuse not to sacrifice, because He knew what He had to do.

For someone who isn’t in spirit or who is in the flesh, they would think, “Jesus was rude, Pilate was only trying to help Him, He could avoided being murder!” But the reality is that, in that moment, Pilate was being used by the devil to give Jesus a way out of making His sacrifice.

It’s so subtle the way the devil tried because like I said, it seemed like Pilate is trying to help, but Jesus knew all along who was really speaking and ignore him. Remember what He did to Peter, when he tried to stop Him from sacrificing?

It reminds me of the times when we know we need to sacrifice, we need to do what will bring about a miracle in our lives, and the devil uses those subtle suggestions to bring doubts and stop us from sacrificing. He even uses people close to us, and unfortunately, many fall for it & end up not sacrificing and even using the excuse “God knows!” or “God knows I tried, but it must be His will for me not to do this!”

People who do this, in reality, are looking for an excuse not to sacrifice, because they don’t want to pay the price of sacrifice. So at the first sign of a convincing opportunity, they don’t go ahead and sacrifice.

Praise God that Jesus ignore or else we all wouldn’t be here, with the opportunity to receive the Holy Spirit.
