Bodybuilders, Powerlifters, Weightlifters and Fitness Freaks all use the same tool, Weights and Resistance Machines, but we all have different goals.
Bodybuilders – They use progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one’s musculature, there sport in competitive amateur and professional bodybuilding appear in lineups doing specified poses, and later perform individual posing routines, for a panel of judges who rank competitors based on criteria such as symmetry, muscularity, and conditioning.
Bodybuilders are not too concerned about the weight they are lifting, their main goal is to contract and stretch the muscle in order to grow. Bodybuilder need TIME UNDER TENSION, Good Form, Reps, Pump the muscles full of blood, a clean diet etc… Bodybuilders are strong but not as strong as Weightlifters & Powerlifters.
Weightlifters – They are athletes who attempts a maximum-weight single lift of a barbell loaded with weight plates which are called the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. Properly executed, the snatch and the clean and jerk are both dynamic and explosive while appearing graceful, especially when viewed from a recording at a slowed speed.
In comparison with other strength sports, which test limit strength (with or without lifting aids), weightlifting tests aspects of human ballistic limits (explosive strength) and are therefore executed faster—and with more mobility and a greater range of motion during their execution – than other lifts.
Powerlifters – They are all about building strength, there sport consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. They are the guys you see in the gym lifting monstrous weights, they are not concerned about looking good like bodybuilders, their sole aim is to be stronger then the next man. Supportive equipment is used to increase the weight lifted in powerlifting exercises and they aim for less reps than bodybuilders.
Those who want to become professionals aspire to be in Strongman competitions, this is a sport which tests competitors’ strength in a variety of different ways.
Fitness Freaks – They are athletes who want to do a bit of everything. Any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is performed for various reasons including strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance, as well as for the purpose of enjoyment.
The general look for a fitness freaks varies, you have some who are lean(Ectomorph), some are muscular(Mesomorph) and some are big(Endomorph).
When you enter the gym, you must know what your there to achieve. Don’t waste time lifting monstrous weights when your main goal is to become super fit, in addition to that, don’t waste your time doing cardio exercises and lifting light weights when you want to build a muscular body. Make sure you do your research before making a workout for yourself.
